Lennart Büchner

Bio

Lennart Büchner, Memior

After his fourth birthday, Lennart wanted to learn the flute.

Sadly, he didn't know the correct word and told his mother he would like to play the violin.

The first lesson with this different instrument was quite a surprise, but he fell in love with it and the music, so kept on going.

At the age of six, he got interested in the piano more and more. Lennart took classical lessons by a teacher from the local conservatory and had his first encounters with the composers he admires today, especially Brahms and Debussy.

Similar to the time he founded a band with his best friends (man in the background of the picture above) when he was 15, his passion for modern- and band music started to grow. Because of the great resonance and support they experienced in these days, he could develop the idea and confidence to make a living out of music. From that time on, it has been a great dream of Lennart to create music as a profession and share all the ideas and soundscapes he feels connected to.

In 2019, he started working at NashRecords in Capetown to go abroad after school and get involved in the processes of music production. Lennart also did his first score and production for a play in these months, while being a student of composition and music theory by Dr. Matthias Lotzmann.

At the end of 2019, he started his studies at the Robert Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf to focus on piano and composition lessons. Throughout the next years, he published several own productions and piano works, as well as two more compositions for plays. 'Judas' - the most recent one - is an immersive 360 Degree sound installation all around the audience, that interacts deeply with the actor as well as the visitors.

To keep up with his passion for music production and popular music, Lennart created his new side project 'Memior' in June 2023. It is all about re-exploring songs in the wide range of acoustic and Indiepop. His first release 'yellow' is a collaboration with Valentin Rieff who is a close friend and originally known as 'rival' (alias 'Valentin' in this release). Click here to listen!
